These strawberry and cacao bites are a perfect treat option to enjoy when you are craving something sweet. Reducing the amount of refined sugar in your diet doesn’t mean you have to miss out on decadent treats or dessert. Love yourself enough to eat well – food is medicine!
This dessert is rich in cacao, which is incredibly high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidant properties, including iron, copper, calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. Cacao is known to boost energy and mood, and increase mental alertness.
It also contains coconut oil, which is anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Its fatty acid profile boosts energy and metabolism, stabilises blood sugar levels and can improve digestion. The recipe also includes honey, which is medicinal and full of nutrients, enzymes and amino acids. It is also known to increase calcium absorption, and is even a natural antibiotic.
The strawberries themselves have amazing health benefits, particularly on a cardiovascular and anti-inflammatory level. And last but not least, maca is an incredible herb, which is known to balance and regulate hormones and adrenal function.
